Ст. 27 Кодексу про громадянство (Закон № 61.212 від 20.04.1961, редакція з поправками до 1966): натуралізація можлива лише для іноземця, який доведе звичайне проживання в ЦАР упродовж 35 років перед поданням заяви — один із найдовших строків у світі. Ст. 26 — надається декретом, ніколи не є правом. Вторинні джерела повідомляють про ймовірне скорочення до 5 років реформою 1984 (ордонанс 84.022), але первинного тексту цієї редакції знайти не вдалося, а довідники (Manby / Вікіпедія) досі подають 35 років як чинну норму.
